What Hamilton girls field lacrosse looks like for 2022
Play an outdoor sport this summer with The Hamilton Lacrosse Association for girls ages 4 and up.
We look a little different again this year as we develop progressive programming that will enable girls of all skill levels enjoy the fast growing sport of lacrosse here in Hamilton.
Players can enjoy the house league Six's program we introduced last summer. We know it will help all players get active and develop their lacrosse skills whether they are beginner or advanced. This is a non-contact sport played on a mini field.
Hamilton Girls’ Field Lacrosse has planned an eight week Lacrosse Six’s program for girls ages 7 and up. Games (health regulations withstanding) held on Thursdays and skills/practice on Tuesdays.
The program runs twice a week mid-May to July 14, once the fields are open.
Skills and training sessions are on Tuesdays with games played on Thursdays.
All players will register for our house league and any registered player can tryout for one of our rep programs.
Rep team tryouts will be held starting in March and ending April 3 for all registered players. You must be registered in order to tryout.
Those looking to play a more competitive style of lacrosse we encourage you to tryout and play for our Bengal teams.
The rep teams are offered in U11, U13, U15, and U19 will compete on weekends in the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse league. Rep practices start in April (turf on weekends in April transitioning to grass on Tuesday/Thursday mid-May). Games start May 28/29 weekend. Provincials for U15/19 are July 15-17 and U11/13 are July 22-23. It's a 10 game season with two games per weekend at OWFL host city. There are no games scheduled for the Canada Day weekend on July 2/3.
Players who want to tryout for Team Ontario or Ontario Summer Games will need to register early with their home clubs.
Rep teams are charged an additional fee to cover extra practice and game play. Hamilton Bengal tryout dates are currently:

Play outside this summer and find out what lacrosse has to offer you.
The outdoor girls' field lacrosse season typically runs from April to the end of July/beginning of August. Hamilton currently runs rep teams who participate in the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse League, OWFL, and introduced house league in 2018. The house league will give local players and their parents a chance to join the growing ranks of lacrosse players in Canada. Hamilton's girls' field lacrosse has been growing every year since its induction in 2011.
Bengal Cubs -- Hamilton's house league is for girls ages 4 to 6. The house league runs one day a week from 6-7 p.m., for eight weeks starting in mid-May in Hamilton. Players and their parents will learn and develop their lacrosse skills in a fun and creative environment.
Bengals -- Hamilton's rep teams start practicing the end of March and continue to the end of July. These teams are offered from U11 up to Senior divisions and will participate in games on either Saturday or Sunday from May to July with a final provincial tournament at the end of the season. Rep teams usually practice on average of two days during the week. While these are rep teams, we do encourage new players in the younger age categories. HLA promotes learning and fundamentals in order to develop the well rounded players.
Girls' field lacrosse requires minimal equipment. Goggles, stick, mouth guard and cleats are all a player required to play.
Hamilton Girls' Field Lacrosse Director Bill Moore will be happy to answer any questions new or returning players may have. Please contact him at email@example.com
Hamilton Lacrosse follows all OLA policy for COVID-19.
