Bengals looking ahead to Western semi-final versus defending OJBLL and Founders Cup champs Elora.

Game three of the B's playoff opener eventually went Hamilton's way last weekend at The Dave after they survived a first-period 3-2 deficit against the Owen Sound North Stars which featured a pair of goals from habitual Bengal-killer Hayden Coulter - his second on a 2-on-2 break which effectively turned 2-on-1  with cornerstone forward Yvon Bolduc in the wrong end of the floor searching for a tourist information booth. Also going against the B's in frame one were super-solid goaltending from North Star Keleb Martin, an ugly collision between teammates Luke Robinson and Nick D'Amico which the elite sniper and loose-ball guru each seem to have recovered from, and an "Ethan Riggs hat trick" by B's rookie Ty English. (That's when you miss three consecutive breakaways!)

Bolduc would make amends scoring a game-high eight loose balls on the night and three assists including one on a gorgeous give-and-go with Hunter Aggus as the Bengals ran away with things in the third. English meanwhile played havoc with the 'Sounders possession game which heavily accounted for his media award selection for this game.

Tenacious defender Sam Gower took home the coveted hammer award as chosen by game two winner Dawson Brown. Robinson earned 3rd star of the game, orchestrating some very pretty goals with like-contributors Tye Argent and rookie Coltrane Tyson, while Braedon Saris takes second star on a three-goal six-point night and star goalie Lucas Nagy takes the first for another gradual noose-tightening performance turning away all of the final 30 shots which followed the game's 27-minute mark. Bengals win the game 12-4 and the series three straight. Hats off to the North Stars for giving the B's a solid opposition each night and then bowing out with class.

The new series is highly anticipated after the Bengals and Mohawks traded 12-11 victories this regular season, each in the other team's barn! Who really has "home" advantage then, with the opener in Elora this Friday night at 8PM?
