How can lacrosse make your life better?
For some, you won't have had a lacrosse stick in your hand since the 2018 season ended. Almost two years.
Our beginners who are just being introduced to the sport will never had used their stick in a game.
How is this making you feel? What can we do about this?
Times remain uncertain. HLA and OWFL are working together to bring lacrosse back into your life.
Back to play. To a place where we can all share the joy and love in our sport. We see players in smaller teams, playing on smaller fields. House league here in the Hammer, expanding the amount of participants without all the travel and smaller rep teams showcasing all they have learned and loved, living lacrosse over the years.
Welcome 2021 Hamilton girls field lacrosse.
Stay safe, stay tuned and keep a stick in your hand.

Play outside this summer and find out what lacrosse has to offer you.
The outdoor girls' field lacrosse season runs from April to the end of July/beginning of August. Hamilton currently runs rep teams who participate in the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse League, OWFL, and introduced house league in 2018. The house league will give local players and their parents a chance to join the growing ranks of lacrosse players in Canada. Hamilton's girls' field lacrosse has been growing every year since its induction in 2011.
Bengal Cubs -- Hamilton's house league is for girls ages 5 to 12. The house league runs one day a week from 6-7 p.m., for eight weeks starting in mid-May in Hamilton. Players and their parents will learn and develop their lacrosse skills in a fun and creative environment.
Bengals -- Hamilton's rep teams start practicing the end of March and continue to the end of July. These teams are offered from U11 up to Senior divisions and will participate in games on either Saturday or Sunday from May to July with a final provincial tournament at the end of the season. Rep teams usually practice on average of two days during the week. While these are rep teams, we do encourage new players in the younger age categories. HLA promotes learning and fundamentals in order to develop the well rounded players.
Girls' field lacrosse requires minimal equipment. Goggles, stick, mouth guard and cleats are all a player required to play. All new U11 age registrations will receive an entry level stick with their paid registration.
Hamilton Girls' Field Lacrosse Director Bill Moore will be happy to answer any questions new or returning players may have. Please contact him at wdmoore@rogers.com
Because of COVID-19 this information is intended to give you a base of what to expect in a normal season. We are currently working on 2021, moving forward with provincial and municipal guidelines. More to come.
